According to the company, this update is designed to make information discovery easier and faster. Previously, some users had noticed underlined words in AI-generated answers — these were links to related search queries. Now the feature is available to everyone and automatically appears wherever the system deems it useful.
When clicking on such a link, the user is redirected to a search results page for that specific term. Additionally, small icons now appear next to some links, leading to side panels with external sources such as news or publishing websites. Google explained that previously, people often had to manually type individual terms from AI answers into the search bar to learn more. Now, it can be done with a single click — significantly simplifying and speeding up the process.
