Google continues to revise its approach to processing information in search. This time, the company officially announced the discontinuation of seven types of structured data, which were rarely used or provided little value in search results. The decision followed an internal audit that revealed these formats offered minimal benefit to both users and ranking algorithms.
The following structured data types will be removed from search results:
- Book actions — interactive buttons related to books (e.g., “Buy” or “Read”);
- Course info — data about online courses or educational programs;
- Claim review — markup for fact-checking that identified verified statements;
- Estimated salary — approximate salary ranges for job listings;
- Learning video — tagging for educational video content;
- Special announcement — special notices (used during COVID-19 or emergency events);
- Vehicle listing — information on car or vehicle sales.

Google emphasizes that these changes will not affect website rankings. In other words, if your website contained any of these structured data types, nothing critical will happen — they simply will no longer appear in rich snippets. At the same time, all other structured data types — such as recipes, products, events, or offers — remain fully supported and continue to help Google better understand page content.
The company encourages webmasters to stay informed and follow updates on the official Search Central Blog. Additionally, Google invites professionals to join the LinkedIn Search Central community, where they can ask questions and discuss the latest optimization trends. This update is another step toward simplifying the structured data ecosystem, aimed at making search more efficient and user-friendly for both users and developers.
